The Royal Military Canal begins near Folkestone and passes through the Cinque Ports of Hythe and Rye, and close to numerous villages along the way, ensuring that one is never far from refreshments or a place to stay. There are also plenty of opportunities for enjoyment in the areas close to the canal.

Hythe, Rye, Appledore and Hamstreet all have a range of services. Bilsington, Ruckinge, Warehorne, Kenardington, Stone-in-Oxney, Winchelsea and Cliff End, which are on or close to the canal, all of have opportunities for refreshment.

Getting to the Royal Military Canal

Folkestone is served by major train links and Hamstreet, Appledore, Rye and Winchelsea are stops on the Ashford to Hastings railway. It is possible to reach many of the villages close to the canal by public transport.
